Welcome Message

Welcome to the Seventh International Conference on Operations and Quantitative Management (ICOQM-VII) organized by AIMS International, International Forum of Management Scholars (INFOMS) and University of Rajasthan. The conference is also supported by International Journal of Operations and Quantitative Management (www.ijoqm.org).

Jaipur, the vibrant capital of Rajasthan, is popularly known as the 'Pink City of India' because of the pink-coloured buildings in its old city. It sits on a dry lake bed in a somewhat arid landscape surrounded by forts and palaces. The city is unique in its straight-line design. It has been world famous for centuries for its grandeur, pageantry, royal pomp and vibrant colours. Red sand stone and marble palaces with intricate mirror work walls dot the whole city. The Hawa Mahal, Amber Fort and the City Palace are embossed on to this beautiful city as well and make Jaipur one of the most attractive tourist spots in India.

The City owes its name, its foundation and its careful planning to the great warrior-
astronomer Maharaja Jai Singh II. In 1728, he built the remarkable observatory, Jantar Mantar, which is still one of main attractions of Jaipur.

Situated about 270 Kms. (170 miles) from Delhi, Jaipur forms one of the three vertices of the Golden Triangle of Indian Tourism of DELHI – JAIPUR – AGRA. It is well connected by road, rail and air to the major cities and attractions in India.
